WELCOME TO ITALY
This project was a fun one because I had free hands to create whatever I wanted with just a few guidelines.

"This project held the challenge to create the feeling of an authentic wine cellar of Italy but with a modern twist. Using the warm-colored stone and brick covered in a light layer of cement to give it the right tint in combination with the concrete, really made it all come together nicely as a combination. It gives interest yes function and that feeling of the old cellars you would find somewhere in Italy.

I also came up with the idea of the skylight to be able to see down into the cellar from the second floor as a fun twist and to get some natural light into the room. I chose an old wine barrel as a table and wanted to keep the interior authentic to the older versions of a vine cellar. I also incorporated some elements of steel for that roughness and industrial feeling. Overall it turned out great and the owner was ecstatic over the end result."
