This client had bought a cottage with great land in the woods and wanted to bring in that feeling of a luxury New England cottage where he could escape from his work, so I took inspiration from Scotland and English mansions and brought that feeling into this home. I got moody more masculine furniture pieces with lots of wood and leather yet keeping it homey and cozy by combining them with fabrics in linen with earthy tones and softer inviting colors like warm greys and beige. I also decided to have all the trims painted in the same color throughout the house, which instantly feels more put together and luxurious. A custom bookcase around one of the windows and a custom kitchen island were also designed for them to have cozy breakfasts and bind the entire space together so it all felt well thought out.
